Through the proceeds from the sale of the book" Cyclone Larry - Tales of Survival from the children of North Queensland" and further generous donations we are installing a new Junior playground at Fitzgerald Esplanade, Innisfail.

The existing playground will be revitalized and refurbished and we hope this will encourage families to come out play, to meet new people, to talk to neighbours and friends and this will in turn help strengthen our whole community. 

Our vision for the Junior Playground will be:

fora safe, family-friendly park which will have new equipment, new fencing, new soft fall, a new all weather cover and seating

We hope that by improving the local playgrounds that:

	they will be safe, family friendly and in an improved state.
	it will encourage families to return to their normal routines
	it will allow families who may be experiencing a reduced income to have somewhere affordable to take their children.
	it will help families deal with feelings of depression and other forms of mental illness which are common after a natural disaster.
